D. M. Dassanayake

DM Dassanayake ( full name Dassanayake Mudiyanselage Dassanayake born April 29, 1953 in Anamaduwa; † January 8, 2008 in Colombo ) was a Sri Lankan politician.

Life

Dassanayake represented the constituency where he lives Anamaduwa in the Province Wayamba in Parliament. Since January 2007, Dassanayake was minister for nation building and a member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka. He died due to injuries he had in a bomb attack in Ja-Ela, a village 19 km north of Colombo, suffered.

The minister was a split dates to victims who met a convoy of vehicles and six other people injured. One of his bodyguards died also later from his injuries.

Dassanayake was married to the Vice Chairperson of the Provincial Council Wyamba Indrani Dassanayake; they have a daughter.
