Dąbki [' dɔmpki ] ( German Dąbki ) is a village in Pomerania. It now belongs to the rural commune ( gmina ) Darłowo (Rügenwalde ) in the powiat Slawienski ( Schlawe ) of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

The small fishing and farming village Dąbki lies between the northern tip of Jezioro Bukowo ( Buckower lake ) and the Baltic Sea.

Situated on a hill in the coastal lowlands, Dąbki is from the neighboring communities Łazy ( Laase ) to the west, Bukowo Morskie ( See Buckow ) in the south and Bobolin ( Böbbelin ) surrounded to the east. The village belongs to the village Dąbkowice ( Damkerort ), which is five kilometers west of the Spit.

The wide meadow valley to the east is crossed by numerous streams. The largest is the Novo Row ( Neuer Graben ) which connects the Jezioro Bukowo ( Buckower lake ) with the Grabowa ( Grabow ). Until the Middle Ages there was a now silted water arm, the " Traht " which linked the Buckower lake with the Baltic, the Grabow and Wipper ( Wieprza ) and could be traveled by large ships.

The nine -kilometer Spit is partly only 100 meters wide. Length pipe faces the lake and sandy dunes and beach on the Baltic Sea side are her protection. The earlier so-called " Buckower Deep" connecting the lake with the sea.

Place name

The German name Dąbki needs no explanation. Previously the term Neewen water or the German name Niewater was widespread.

The Polish name " Dąbki " those discerned the Slavic word for " oak ".

History

The area around Dąbki got 1265-1270 in the possession of the monastery Buckow. The time of birth of the village is not known.

1493 put Duke Bogislaw X of Pomerania in border disputes between the monastery and the town of Buckow Rügenwalde regarding the district boundaries of Dąbki and other communities. Around 1780, the village has 26 fishermen, among whom is the mayor, as well as 8 and 1 Büdner schoolmaster.

Beginning of the 20th century developed through the summer tourism a new source of income: Rooms for rent in bathers, mostly regulars. Also, let individual artists, especially painters, down here.

In 1818, 302 people lived in Dąbki and Damkerort. Their number was in 1871, only 234, but rose again to 1939 to 321

By 1945, formed Dąbki with communities Böbbelin (now Polish: Bobolin ) Büssow ( Boryszewo ) See Buckow ( Bukowo Morskie ), Lake Suckow ( Żukowo Morskie ) and Steinort ( Gleznowo ) the District Büssow district Schlawe i Pom. Last municipality mayor was Franz buoy. Civil ceremony Dąbki with Böbbelin, Büssow, See Buckow and Steinort to the registry office Büssow was connected with headquarters in Lake Buckow.

Towards the end of Weltkriwegs occupied on March 6, 1945, Soviet troops, coming from the west, the Spit with Damkerort and Dąbki. In Dąbki remained until 1948 Command of the Red Army.

In 1948 the site was handed over by the Soviets to the Polish administration. Dąbki was renamed by the Polish authorities in Dąbki.

Church

Evangelical Church

In Dąbki and Damkerort included almost all the inhabitants of the Protestant Church. The place was the parish with the villages Böbbelin, Büssow, Steinort and (later ausgepfarrten by Peter Hagen) Branch Pirbstow community in the parish See Buckow ( Bukowo Morskie ). The church of the people of Dąbki was thus the village church See Buckow. The parish belonged to the church district Rügenwalde the Church Province of Pomerania in the Protestant Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Today belongs to the parish place to Koszalin ( Koszalin ) of the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

Catholic Church

The Polish Catholic Church has built a new church in the village.

School

A school was in Dąbki already around in 1780. The school building, which until 1945, around 40 children were taught, was built around 1880.

Damkerort had its own school.

Traffic

The village is connected to the province road No. 203, which runs from Koszalin ( Koszalin ) about Darłowo (Rügenwalde ) to Ustka ( Stolpmünde ). Until after Darłowo there are nine kilometers, and the county seat Sławno ( Schlawe ) is 29 kilometers away. Station is Darłowo at the track Darłowo - Sławno - Korzybie ( Zollbrueck ).
