Daft Punk's Electroma is a film by Daft Punk. The film is about two robots ( the band members, played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich ) who want to be human.

Action

The two main characters "Hero Robot No.. 1" and " Hero Robot No.. 2 " appear as robotic alter-egos of Daft Punk on. They begin their journey through the southwestern United States in a Ferrari 412, which carries the license plate " HUMAN ". In a city which is also inhabited by robots arrived, both go into a building. There they a latex mask is adjusted in a white room, wearing human facial features.

After leaving the building they are being chased by the shocked residents of the town. The latex masks melt into the sun and be removed from both in a public toilet.

Subsequently, the two robots travel through a salt desert. "Hero Robot No.. 1" can, after some time a self-destruct mechanism by his companions activate and explodes after a countdown.

"Hero Robot No.. 2 " wanders on, but breaks down after some time and wants to destroy himself as well. However, it can not activate automatically the mechanism. Instead, he destroyed his helmet, come to the fore behind the circuits. With a sliver of the helmet visor as a magnifying glass, he ignites in the setting sun on his hand.

The film ends with the burning robot walks slowly through the darkness of the desert.

Background

The film premiered on 21 May 2006 at the International Film Festival in Cannes. The soundtrack has not been implemented by Daft Punk, but instead includes pieces by Brian Eno, Sébastien Tellier, Curtis Mayfield, Frédéric Chopin and Haydn.
