Dakota Blue Richards

Dakota Blue Richards (born 11 April 1994 Brighton, United Kingdom ) is a British actress. Notoriety she gained for her role in the film The Golden Compass, an adaptation of the novel of the same name from Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, in which she plays the main person Lyra Belacqua. The film was released on 6 December 2007 in the German cinemas. Richards plays in the British television series Skins - Skin for the fifth season, which began in January 2011, the role of Franky Fitzgerald, an androgynous outsider.

Life

From ten thousand candidates for the lead role in the film The Golden Compass, which had come to auditions in Oxford, Cambridge, Kendal and Exeter, Dakota Richards was selected in June 2006. She also was one of the two chosen ones, who were selected by the author Philip Pullman from the 40 favored candidates who had been sent to him by the casting team. According to the company Richards had become aware through a notice in the Newsround on the auditions, a children's news program the BBC.
