The Secret of Moonacre is a fantasy film from the year 2008 and based on the book The Little White Horse ( in the original The Little White Horse ) the English novelist Elizabeth Goudge. The film was directed by Gabor Csupo, director of Bridge to Terabithia, in Hungary.
Action
When Maria Merryweather 's father dies, he leaves her only a mysterious book. Maria must is left as an orphan her father's house and, accompanied by her governess Miss Heliotrope, taken from her eccentric uncle Sir Benjamin on his mysterious Moonacre Manor in. Sir Benjamin is not willing to give their explanations to their many questions about unexplained things in the castle and the area, so that Mary Help in the book her father studied. Background
The film was shot near Veszprém and in London in Budapest Castle Csesznek. The forest scenes were shot in the forest of Pilisgebirges.
One of the final sequences, in which Maria returns on the back of a unicorn from the lake is to be understood as reminiscent of The Last Unicorn.
The premiere took place during the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2008.
