Dan Söderström

Dan Olof Söderström ( born April 5, 1948 in Horndal ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Dan Söderström began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Horndals IF, for the seniors team, he was active from 1963 to 1966 in the then third-tier Division 3. He then moved to Leksand IF from the Division 1, the highest Swedish league. With Leksand he won the Swedish championship titles in 1969, 1973, 1974 and 1975. From the 1975/76 season the winger took part with Leksand at the newly founded Elitserien. In this he was in 1977 and 1978 respectively best assist provider. In the years 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1980, he was selected in each case in the Swedish all-star team. Following the 1982/83 season he finished his playing career at the age of 35 years.

In the season 1983/84 Soderstrom served as head coach Falu IF from the second-rate at this time Division 1 The following two years he spent in the same position at his old club Leksand IF of the Elitserien. In the 1990/91 season was the Swede 's head coach at the fourth division Björbo IF.
