Daniel Andersson (footballer born 1977)
Daniel " Danne " Andersson ( born August 28, 1977 in Borgeby ) is a Swedish football player. The younger brother of former Bundesliga player Patrik Andersson, who acts mainly as a defensive midfielder, has so far won the Swedish championship twice, and participated with the Swedish national team in four international tournaments.
Career
Andersson began his professional career in 1994 at Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan. His debut in the national team celebrated the Swede February 11, 1997 against Thailand. In the summer of 1998 he moved to Italy to Bari in the Serie A. He played three successful years and established himself in the national team, so he was in the squad for Euro 2000. Between 2001 and 2004, followed by happiness looser stations at AC Venice, Ancona Calcio and AC Chievo Verona. Although he still participated in the 2002 World Cup in part, but did not play after the tournament and was initially not more of the country selection.
In summer 2004, Andersson returned to his hometown club Malmö FF and has established itself as a regular player in the defensive midfield. With 11 inserts season he wore in the 2004 at the Swedish Championship. As a regular player he missed in the following years, almost no game and played back in the country selection. In the 2006 World Cup in Germany, he was back in the squad and came to a short stint, as he came off the bench in the match against England in extra time. Also at the European Championship 2008, he was considered by coach Lars Lagerback.
After Sweden 's failure to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Andersson was on 14 October 2009 announced to end his career as a national player. Nevertheless, he remained active for further Malmö FF and led - now in the position of the defender - as team captain the club in the season 2010 the Swedish championship title. On the side of Ulrich Vinzents, Jiloan Hamad, Guillermo Molins and Agon Mehmeti, he missed no match of the Championship and distinguished himself as a five time scorer.
