2004 Allsvenskan

The Fotbollsallsvenskan 2004 was the 80th season in the highest Swedish football league Fotbollsallsvenskan.

The championship was played between 3 April and 30 October 2004. At the end of the season Malmö FF led the league and overtook the 15th league title in club history. As a direct relegated the two last- placed teams from Trelleborg FF and AIK had to dismount. In the relegation had as Third last Örgryte IS, but could there prevail against Assyriska Föreningen. In addition, Örebro SK was revoked the license. Instead of the club Assyriska was allowed to participate in the 2005 after the club had failed in the relegation to ÖIS.

After ÖIS had used the Match against GIF Sundsvall at many non- EU nationals, the Swedish Football Association decided on a new rating of the game. Instead of a 1-1 draw, the game was scored with 3-0, and a victory for GIF. For ÖIS This amendment had no impact, GIF Sundsvall climbed from eighth to seventh place.

Third-placed Superettan playing in the Relegation against the third last of the Allsvenskan. Örgryte IS sat down thanks to the away goals rule by against Assyriska. Relegation was but meaningless in the Superettan Örebro SK because of the withdrawal of licenses and the associated forced descent, Assyriska was allowed to play in the Fotbollsallsvenskan 2005 as losers of relegation.
