Trelleborgs FF

Trelleborg FF is a Swedish football club from the city of Trelleborg. The club was founded on December 6, 1926, plays in the 2012 season in the second-rate Superettan.


In 1984 you could, after two qualifiers against Åtvidabergs FF, the first time in club history to qualify for the highest Swedish league Allsvenskan the. Here Trelleborg lost the first game in Åtvidaberg 1-0. The return match was but before 9,790 spectators at the home stadium Vångavallen be won with 3:1. Lazio Rome was then the opponent in the third round. After playing at home 0-0 to Trelleborg FF was defeated in Rome 0-1 in extra time.

After this " golden age " of the club history, the club held until 2001 in the Allsvenskan, before then descent into Superettan. The club then played between 2002 and 2006 in the second division. The second division membership was interrupted by a rather unsuccessful interlude in the Allsvenskan in 2004. From 2007 to 2011 belonged Trelleborg FF again to the Allsvenskan. It succeeded in its first season in 2007 only narrowly avoiding relegation in front of the same number of points IF Brommapojkarna. As a second to last with 3 points off the relegation place followed in 2011, however, the renewed descent into Superettan. The negative trend continued in 2012, the club went straight into the Division 1 Södra. By the sporting relegation, the club also has to contend with a human as financial drain.
