1960 Allsvenskan

The Fotbollsallsvenskan 1960 was the 36th season of the highest Swedish football league Fotbollsallsvenskan.

After was first played in the previous year in the history of the Allsvenskan champions within the calendar year, fought between the 18th April and the October 16, 1960 again twelve teams for the title. The euphoria that had broken out after the vice-champion title of the Swedish national team at the World Cup 1958 in Sweden, could not be entirely held, but to keep the average attendance per game just over 10,000 followers succeeded.

At the end of the season IFK Norrköping succeeded with 17 season wins and one defeat in 22 games, the ninth league title was won in 1943 the first title in club history. Thus, the league was dominated such that the runner-up IFK Malmö had seven points behind. Strange also was the fact that the third-placed Örgryte IS had only six points clear of the relegation places, occupied last year's champion Djurgårdens IF and Movers Jönköping Södra IF.
