Daniel Jones (musician)

Daniel Jones (born 22 July 1973 in Southend -on-Sea, Essex, England ) is a musician, songwriter and music producer. He was known in particular as part of the world famous Australian pop duo Savage Garden, whose international hits were among the songs I Want You To the Moon and Back, Truly Madly Deeply, I Knew I Loved You and Crash and Burn. Since his time with Savage Garden Jones has his own production company Meridien music and recording studio founded Level 7 Studios, and made ​​new works with various young Australian artists in attack.

Daniel Jones was born in 1973 in Southend -on-Sea, England, but his family emigrated before his tenth birthday to Australia. The Jones family moved to Brisbane, where Daniel grew up as the youngest of three sons. Already in his childhood, music was an important part in Daniel's life, which is also true for his two brothers, Oliver and Jonathan Lee Jones, who also possess a musical talent. His mother often called him Caniel after his name had been misspelled in an article in the school newspaper about a been shot by him score. Jones left after the 10th year, the Shailer Park State High School to pursue a musical career. Then he fell ill with reflux esophagitis, an inflammatory disease of the esophagus.

On 30 April 2000, he met at the Logie Awards on his future wife, Kathleen de Leon, who had been a member of the successful Australian teenager group Hi-5 at this time. After more than three years together, Kathleen organized a '70s Party at Daniel's 30th birthday, when he publicly confessed to her in front of hundreds of people his love and made ​​her a marriage proposal in the GPO Bar in Brisbane.

Music career

Career start

At the age of just 18 years he was with his brother and some of his friends a member of a band called Red Edge, which, however, lacked a frontman. Daniel Jones then advertised in the local Brisbane music newspaper Time Off a display in which the band was looking for a suitable singer. One of those who signed up to this display was out, Darren Hayes, the final choice was. After some time, however, it was Hayes tired of other people's songs to sing, and he was determined to leave Red Edge. At this time, Daniel Jones already thought to put his own music, and so he came to the difficult decision, along with Darren Hayes from the band to get out. Darren Hayes, the other half of the duo, took over all the vocal tracks, while Jones was mainly responsible for the instrumental background. Hayes and Jones wrote and played only their own music and had 1998 Truly Madly Deeply and 2000 with I Knew I Loved You their biggest international hits. From the beginning, they traveled around the world to promote their first album and present their songs. After Savage Garden

In 2001, Daniel began an Australian band called Aneiki support, which consisted of the musicians Jennifer Waite and Grant Wallis.
