Daniel Kelly (athlete)

Daniel Kelly ( Daniel Joseph " Dan " Kelly; * September 1, 1883; † April 9, 1920 in Fernie, Canada) was an American long jumper and sprinter.

In May In 1906 the student of the University of Oregon with 7.37 m on a Jahresweltbestleistung in the long jump. A month later, he presented over 100 yards (9.6 s ) and 220 yards ( 21.6 s ) the world record one. In 1907, he was U.S. champion in the long jump.

At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 he won with 7.09 m silver medal behind his compatriot Frank Irons and before the Canadian Calvin Bricker (7.08 s ).
