Daniel Mann

Daniel Mann; born as Daniel Chugerman, ( born August 8, 1912 in Brooklyn, New York, USA, † November 21, 1991 in Los Angeles, California, USA) was an American film and television director.

Life

Since his childhood man was a theater actor and attended the New York 's Professional Children 's School and the Neighborhood Playhouse.

1952 Daniel Mann began to take hold as a director in the film world. He showed little flair for visual dynamics but an excellent ear for dialogue. Most of his films had theatrical adaptations ( Come Back Little Sheba, Rose Tattoo, Teahouse of August Moon ), or resorted to literary sources back ( Butterfield 8, Last Angry Man). Man has collaborated among others with the Hollywood stars Marlon Brando, Sidney Poitier and Walter Matthau. Coinciding with his debut film flip back, little Sheba, he received the award for the best film drama at the film festival of Cannes 1953.

Daniel Mann died in November 1991 in Los Angeles of heart failure.
