Stage win Vuelta a España 2013 Euskal Bizikleta 2008 Second in the Tour of Poland 2009

Daniel Moreno Fernández ( born September 5, 1981 in Madrid ) is a Spanish cyclist.

Career

Daniel Moreno began his career in 2004, first as an intern at the Spanish cycling team Relax- Bodysol. The following year, Moreno signed his first professional contract there also and was the second places in the Prueba Villafranca de Ordizia and in the overall standings of the Tour of Andalusia land his first successes. In 2006, he again achieved good rankings. He was third at the Clasica Alcobendas in May and second in the Volta ao Alentejo, in both races he could each win a stage. The Rating Burgos Tour, he finished in third place overall. With his move to ProTour team Caisse d' Epargne in 2008, Moreno established further in professional cycling. In addition to stage victories at the Euskal Bizikleta and the Vuelta a Chihuahua, he drew attention to himself in particular with good finishes at the Vuelta a España.

With the start of the 2010 season, Moreno was in the service of the Belgian racing team Omega Pharma-Lotto.

After only a year later moved to Katusha, his career was again in motion. In 2011 he won a mountain stage of the Vuelta and was ninth overall despite a helper for Joaquim Rodriguez. In 2012, he won two stages at the Critérium du Dauphiné and surpassed its last year's performance at the Vuelta with fifth place. In 2013 he won in spring was the Fleche Wallonne and came at the Vuelta after nine stages on two stage successes, as well as the overall lead, the points classification and the combined score.
