Danielle Scott - Arruda ( born October 1, 1972 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States) is an American volleyball player. She participated in five Olympic tournaments and in 2002 vice-champion.

Career

Scott - Arruda began with the volleyball as a student of Woodlawn High School in her hometown. There she was also active in basketball, softball and athletics. When she came in 1990 with a scholarship to California State University, she continued to play volleyball and basketball. Them as " National Player of the Year" in 1993 and helped her team to win the NCAA championship. After her graduation in 1994 she was appointed to the national team and focused three years on the U.S. team, with whom she won the 1995 World Grand Prix. In Atlanta in 1996, they first participated in the Olympics and in the following season, she moved to Italy to Gierre Roma and won the CEV Cup. In summer 1997 they tested a volleyball variant with four players before they went to Uniao Sao Paulo for a year in Brazil. Then it was limited again for three years on the national team. It launched unsuccessful attempts in the Women's National Basketball Association. In the summer of 2000, she experienced not only her second Olympic volleyball tournament, but went to as a beach volleyball player at the tournament of the FIVB World Tour in Madrid and in two tournaments in the U.S. AVP Tour. After winning the NORCECA Championship and the Grand Prix 2001 ( most valuable player and best scorer and Blocker ), she continued her club career in Brazil at BCN Osasco. She then moved again to Italy to Florens Castellana Grotte. 2012 in London, she was again able to win the silver medal in her fifth Olympic participation.

Private

In the fall of 1994, Scott - Arruda received her bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts at California State University. On July 15, 2006, she married in her hometown of the Brazilian volleyball players Eduardo " Pezão " Arruda.
