Danmarks Badminton Forbund

Danmarks Badminton Forbund (DBF ) is the supreme national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Denmark. The Association, founded on January 15, 1930 Member of the Danish Sports Federation ( Danmarks Idræts - Forbund ) and has its seat in the House of Sport ( Idraettens Hus ) in Brøndby.

History

Badminton was played in Denmark for the first time in 1925. First attempts have been made at Skovshoved IF, where the sports hall for the date previously played outdoor tennis proved to be too small. The SIF was followed by the later becoming world famous club Københavns BK and BK Gentofte. In the 1930/1931 season, the first Danish Championships were held in the 1935/1936 season, the Denmark Open. In the meantime, was Danmarks Badminton Forbund 1934 founding member of the Badminton World Federation, then known as International Badminton Federation, become. The DBF 1967 also then known founding member of the continental governing body Badminton Europe, as European Badminton Union. The number of members of the Association grew rapidly.
