Dansband
Dansband (Swedish dance band ), is a style of music whose origins lie in the Sweden of the 1970s.
The music genre dansbandsmusik ( German dance band music ), reached greatest popularity in Sweden and Norway in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. A " dansband " is a band that plays dance music, often Bugg and Foxtrot. The word dansband sometimes referred to the music genre.
Content
The lyrics of the Dansbandsmusik are generally cheerful and often deal with love, friendship and peace. Also, the dancing is often taken up as a subject, as " the good old days ".
Styles
Before the music direction was really popular, used to play jazz orchestra the pop - oriented Dansband. In the 1950s, interest in jazz music took off, and also Dansband developed with the general taste in music to pop music. Greatest popularity reached the bands Flamingokvintetten, Ingmar Nordström, Wizex, and Matz Bladhs in the 1970s. Also known in Germany is the Dansbandsgruppe Vikingarna.
In the 1980s, the Dansbandsmusik was divided into two categories, mogen (Swedish ripe ) and modern. The modern style of music was influenced by rock style and was mainly aimed at the youth, while the Mogen style of older fans was preferred, the music was slow and similar to Schottis, Hambo and Snoa. In the 1990s Dansband was played primarily in Mogen - style, with a modern touch, which is referred to as fräschmogen. Groups with this kind of music were Blender, Arvingarna, Candela, Joyride and Fernandoz.
In the various parts of the country Dansband has different directions. In the southern Swedish region of Skåne, the music is influenced by country, and is usually slow. In central Sweden the Bugg is popular, from there come the famous Mogen bands like Vikingarna and Sven- Ingvar. In Norrland Dansband is characterized often faster and more frequently of rock music. Therefore, the Norrland Dansbandsmusik can be considered as the most modern of various kinds.
