Danville is a city in Boyle County in the U.S. state of Kentucky, in the United States.
The census of 2000, according to which the city has a population of 15,477 inhabitants.
Here there is the administrative seat of Boyle County. Danville was once in the 18th century, de facto "capital" of Kentucky, when the area was still part of the district of Virginia. Here also was the first Constitutional Convention held prior to appointment to a federal state.
Originally birthplace of the "Transylvania University ", this soon attracted to Lexington.
