Dariusz Szwed

Dariusz Szwed ( born April 25, 1967 in Kraków ) is a Polish politician, social activist, economist and one of the founders and from 2004 to 2011 one of the leaders of the political green party Zieloni 2004 ( together with the Co-Chairs Małgorzata Tkacz - Janik ). He candidate in the parliamentary elections as number 1 on the list of Democratic Left Alliance in Chrzanów ..

Szwed graduated from the Cracow University of Economics ( International Economics ) and the University of Warsaw ( postgraduate course - economic foundations of environmental policy) and employees in the Group of the Greens / European Free Alliance in the European Parliament. In 2004 he was a delegate of the Greens in the European Green Party. He is a member of the European Association of Economists for the environment and natural resources and co-founder and Chairman of the Council of the Green Institute Program Committee.

Public activities

In 2000-2002, Szwed was an external expert of the Ministry of the Environment in access to information and public participation in decision-making. In the 1999-2004 term he was an advisor to the Green Group in the European Parliament for the accession countries. By November 2007, he hosted along with Cezary Łasiczka the program "Political Ecology" on the radio Tok FM.

Political Activities and Views

Since 2004, Dariusz Szwed was co-chairman of Zieloni 2004., He coordinated while the campaigns " Green Economy " and " Green Europe ". Szwed was an activist for the defense of the Rospuda Valley. He wrote an open letter to the then Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, in which he listed the arguments for the construction of the Via Baltica outside the Rospuda swamps. In another open letter to Donald Tusk he presented ten claims on the Civic Platform Peasant Party coalition and supported Maciej Nowicki, who was appointed shortly afterwards as minister of the environment.

Electoral alliance Zieloni 2004 Polish Social Democracy - partia Demokratyczna he was in the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2005 a candidate for the first list position of the Polish Social Democracy of the 35th district. Szwed argues for the protection of consumers against monopolies, increasing energy efficiency and renewable energy development. It is against the construction of nuclear power plants - together with Prof. Krzysztof Zmijewski example, he introduced a proposal to replace 20 million incandescent bulbs with energy-saving lamps. This is a hundred times cheaper than building a nuclear power plant. Szwed is a supporter of egalitarianism, he fights for a policy of equality and the rights of national minorities. As a feminist, he assumes some feminist demonstrations and had 2010 participants in the Congress of Polish Women, where he ' co-organized a panel on women and sustainable development. With the center of women's rights, he is fighting against violence, especially against women. Szwed is an activist in the anti-war movement and anti-globalization. He advocates for the knowledge society, environment-friendly technologies, free culture and free software. He advocates the separation of church and state and promotes the ideological neutrality of the state.
