Darren Clark

Darren Edward Clark ( born September 6, 1965 in Sydney, Australia ) is a former Australian athlete.

At the Olympic Games in 1984 Clark was in the 400 - meter race in 44.75 s fourth in the 4 x 400 - meter relay, he ran the second fastest time of all participants, although the season was only fourth in 2:59, 70 min after the United States, the British and Nigeria. For the first time filed a period of less than three minutes is not for a medal.

In the Commonwealth Games 1986 Darren Clark was about 400 meters behind the Second British Roger Black. With the season he won a second silver medal. At the World Championships 1987 he retired from both the 400 m and with the season in the semifinals.

In the semi-finals at the 1988 Olympics Clark presented with 44.38 s on his personal best. In the final he finished fourth in 44.55 seconds and was still half a second behind the third of the three Americans. With the season he reached number six in the final.

At the 1990 Commonwealth Games Darren Clark won in 44.60 s his first and only major title. The Australian season was disqualified in the flow. His only medal outside the Commonwealth Games won Darren Clark at the World Indoor Championships in 1993 when he won after Butch Reynolds from the U.S. and the Nigerian Sunday Bada bronze.
