Darwin is a small town in Minnesota, USA.

Geography

By Darwin leads the U.S. Highway 12, wherein the location is halfway between the westerly Litchfield and the eastern Dassel.

History

First spatial divisions took surveyor from Dubuque (Iowa) before on paper, which they called the place "Stella City". When they built the place in 1858, it was called " Rice City " in honor of Edmund Rice, then President of a railroad company. 1869, the town was renamed in honor of Electus Darwin Litchfield ( 1817-1888 ). This was a shareholder of the same railway company whose line of Saint Paul ( Minnesota) had been developed from the 1860s until now.

Sight

In the village there is a large cord -coil, which should be the largest in the world. It is covered by a wooden hut with plexiglass windows and weighs about 7900 kg with a diameter of about 4m and was produced by Francis A. Johnson in 29 years of work. Published in 1989, Weird Al Yankovic a song called "The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota " in his album " UHF - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Other Stuff " to the ball.
