David Arias Pérez

David Arias Pérez, OAR ( born July 22, 1928 in Mataluenga, Leon province, Spain) is a retired auxiliary bishop of Newark.

Life

David Arias Pérez joined the Congregation of the Augustinian Recollects and received on May 29, 1954, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 25 January 1983 titular bishop of Badiae and auxiliary bishop in Newark. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Newark, Peter Leo Gerety, on April 7 of the same year; Co-consecrators were Joseph Thomas O'Keefe, Auxiliary Bishop of New York, and Alphonse Gallegos, OAR, Auxiliary Bishop of Sacramento.

On 21 May 2004, John Paul II took his on the grounds of age pre- mounted resignation.
