David Arkenstone

David Arkenstone ( born July 1, 1952 in Chicago, USA) is an American musician and composer. Stylistically, his work can assign the terms new age and trance, with the majority of his compositions is purely instrumental and frequently shows influences of Celtic music. Previously Arkenstone produced 40 studio albums and has been nominated three times for the Grammy, because it deals in addition to his solo career with film and video game music.

Biography

After he moved from his hometown of Chicago to California at the age of ten, he had during high school by several bands contact with music. He formed a band named after him even while he was in college, turned in the episode but a solo career. His first studio album, " Valley of the Clouds", he published in 1987. With "Citizen of Time" (1990 ) and "In the Wake of the Wind" (1991 ) reached two of his albums number one on the Billboard New Age charts, taking the latter was nominated for a Grammy for the first time.

1995 saw the album " Quest of the Dream Warrior", which appeared as a musical context of a short story that Arkenstone himself had written. Even later works appeared frequently in literature or paintings, which he thematically often stayed in the area fantasy. Later, he also devoted himself to the musical creativity of television shows, movies and video games. He produced the soundtrack for the independent film PRISM, composed for the History and Discovery Channel and was involved in Blizzard's video game classic World of Warcraft, as well as Blade Runner.

A part of his music he released as a band under the name Troika.

Personal

Arkenstone mastered a number of instruments, including cello, guitar, harp, flute, bouzouki and piano. From his first marriage produced three children - his second wife he was married to Diane Arkenstone musicians. With it, he also founded the label Neo Pacifica.
