David Connor (footballer)

Richard David "Dave" Connor ( born October 27, 1945 in Wythenshawe ) is a former English footballer. As a versatile defensive midfielder and he won in 1968 with Manchester City, the English championship, but he could despite his nearly ten years with the club permanently never recommend it as a regular player.

Sports career

Born in Wythenshawe, near Manchester in 1945 as a left winger Connor was part of the successful youth team of Manchester City at the beginning of the 1960s. In this position 1964/65 debuted the " left-footed " to kick off the season against Charlton Athletic (1-2) in the first team, which was active at this time in the second-rate Second Division. This season, Connor came to a total of 24 league operations, said he dodged more on the right wing towards the end.
