David Doyle (actor)

David Fitzgerald Doyle ( born December 1, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, † February 26, 1997 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Career

At the age of six years played a native of a lawyer Doyle family first time in a play. Despite the successful completion of his law studies at the University of Nebraska, he finally decided against the legal profession and for acting. 1956 Doyle played on Broadway in the play Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? with, where he replaced Walter Matthau.

His film debut was in 1959 Doyle in the film Happy Anniversary. He then was in numerous television series such as Hawaii Five-O, Hart to Hart or Murder, She Wrote to see as a guest star. His most famous role is that of John Bosley in the series Charlie's Angels, which from 1976 to 1981 Doyle played in 113 episodes. Because of this role Doyle is often confused with the actor Tom Bosley.

In addition, Doyle also worked as a spokesperson in various animated series. Among other things, he was heard in Captain Balu and his daring crew and Rugrats.

On February 26, 1997 Doyle died in Los Angeles of a heart attack.

Private

Doyle's father, Lewis Raymond Doyle, was a lawyer, as well as Doyle's brother and grandfather. His other grandfather, John Fitzgerald, was a prominent banker and road builders. Doyle's sister Mary Doyle ( † 1995) was also an actress. From 1956 to 1968 Doyle was married to Rachel Doyle, before they died after an accident. On January 11, 1969 married Anne Doyle Nathan, with whom he was married until his death.
