David Jimenez

David Alejandro Jiménez Rodriguez ( * 15 April 1992 in Cartago ) is a Costa Rican Boxer. Jiménez was the winner of the Central American Games in 2010 and 2013 and bronze medalist of the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2010 and the World Championships in 2013.

Career

His first international medal winning Jiménez in 2009 with the bronze medal at the Central American Championships in Guatemala City in the light flyweight (-48 kg). The following year he won the Central American Games in Panama City and the Central American Championships in San Jose. The Central American and Caribbean Games 2010 Jiménez won the bronze medal. 2011 defended Jiménez in Managua his title at the Central American Championships. At the Pan American Games in 2011, however, he dropped out at the quarter- final against the Cubans Yosvany Veitía ( 14:2 ). 2012 missed Jiménez in Rio de Janeiro, the Olympic qualification but defended at least for the second time his title at the Central American Games.

2013 Jiménez won the Central American Games in San Jose. At the world championships in the same year he reached after victories among others over the reigning European champion Jack Bateson, England (2:1), the semi-finals. In this he faced the Tunisian Mohamed Flissi, whom he defeated 3-0 judges' votes.
