David Lansana

David Lansana ( * 1922, † 1975) was in 1967 as a Brigadier highest military in Sierra Leone. He belonged to the tribe of the Mende. He was married and had a son. His son, Shuggy, was a senior military and concluded, inter alia in the Falklands War are used.

David Lansana was the first African officer of the Royal Sierra Leonean army. Later he became the first African who could lead the First Battalion of the Army. He received numerous awards for his great dedication and bravery.

He obtained a few days after the inauguration of Siaka Stevens, a military coup under incitement of Albert Margai power, however, was only three days later even, deposed by another military leadership, the National Reform Council (NRC ).
