David Mark

David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark (* April 1948 in Zungeru, now in Niger State, Nigeria ) is a Nigerian politician.

Biography

After schooling completed Mark, who comes from the people of Idoma, a study of telecommunications at the College of Military Engineering and the Military College of Telecommunication and graduated with a Bachelor of Science ( B.Sc.Telecomm. ) From. He then worked as an officer in the armed forces of Nigeria and later as a businessman and entrepreneur.

His political career began in January 1984 as the Governor of Niger. He held until 1986 this office.

In 1991 he was first elected to the Senate and has since been one of the Senate ( Senate of Nigeria ) to. 2003 and 2007 he was re-elected as representatives of the People's Democratic Party (PDP ) in Benue South constituency in the southern region of the state of Benue. In 2003 he was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the West African Economic Community ( ECOWAS). As a senator, he focused largely on questions of foreign policy and national security.

Since 2007, Mark is the successor of Ken Nnamani President of the Senate.
