David Ospina (2008)

David Ospina Ramírez ( born August 31, 1988 in Medellín, Colombia) is a Colombian football goalkeeper who has a contract with OGC Nice in 2008.

Atlético Nacional 2005-2008

Ospina is considered one of the most talented goalkeepers of his generation in Colombia and as the successor of the great goalkeepers René Higuita, Óscar Córdoba and Faryd Mondragon. With Atletico Nacional he won the inaugural tournament and the final tournament of the Cup 2007 in Colombia. In the Primera A, he was 18 years old the youngest player in history to win both titles.

OGC Nice since 2008

When he wanted to commit Boca Juniors, he moved on 9 July 2008 in the French Ligue 1 OGC Nice. He signed a four -year contract. The transfer fee was estimated at two million euros. Ospina is from the beginning the number 1 at OGC Nice, because the former goalkeeper Hugo Lloris Olympique Lyon moved until Frederic Antonetti, the then -coach of Nice on the seasoned goalkeeper Lionel Letizi. He played together in the national team with Mario Yepes, Óscar Córdoba, Iván Córdoba, Hugo Rodallega, Edixon Perea, Luis Perea, Fabián Vargas, Gustavo Ramos, Fredy Guarín and with Radamel Falcao García. During qualifying for the 2010 World Cup against Bolivia he was the second youngest goalkeeper who ever played for the national football team of Colombia from the beginning, at the age of 20 years. During the first days in Colombia in preparation for the Copa America 2011, he suffered a facial injury after a collision with Hugo Rodallega, who took him to participate in the tournament. He was replaced by Neco Martínez goalkeeper Nelson Ramos and was subsequently nominated as goalkeeper.

Ospina started out as a goalkeeper for Colombia during the qualifying of the 2014 FIFA World Cup against Bolivia, Venezuela and Argentina. Colombia won the match against Bolivia, played draw against Venezuela and lost against Argentina.
