David Pollock, 3rd Viscount Hanworth

David Stephen Geoffrey Pollock, 3rd Viscount Hanworth ( born February 16, 1946) is a British peer, university teacher and politician ( Labour Party ). He usually uses his middle name Stephen.

Life and career

Pollock was born on 16 February 1946 as the son of David Bertram Pollock, 2nd Viscount Hanworth ( 1916-1996 ) and Isolda Rosamund Parker ( born 1918 ). He attended Wellington College and Guildford Technology College. He studied at the University of Sussex; this he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. At the University of Southampton, he earned a Master of Science ( MSc). At the University of Amsterdam he received his Ph.D. ( decon ); he received his doctorate in economics specialist.

Pollock was Associate Professor ( Reader) in Economics ( Economics) from the London University. Hanworth is currently (July 2011) as Professor of Econometrics and Computational Statistics ( Econometrics and Computational Statistics ) at the University of Leicester, where he taught Mathematical Statistics ( Mathematical Statistics ), Economics ( Econometrics ) and Environmental Science (Environmental Sciences).

He is a guest lecturer ( Visiting Lecturer ) of the Institute of Economics ( Department of Economics) from Queen Mary, University of London. In addition, he is an examiner and assessor ( External Examiner ) at Cass Business School, City University London.

Membership in the House of Lords

By the death of his father in 1996 he inherited the title and the time associated seat in the House of Lords. For the first time he participated in a meeting on 19 November 1996. His inaugural address was delivered on 15 January 1997. At meetings he regularly attended and spoke on the topics of industrial policy, foreign policy and development aid, taxes, energy policy, transportation, and housing.

Through the House of Lords Act 1999, he lost his seat after he did not compete previously in the election for the remaining two Labour members. On 11 November 1999, the latest date he was before last in attendance at a meeting. In the by-election, which was triggered by the death of Michael Milner, 2nd Baron Milner of Leeds in 2003, he defeated Christopher Suenson - Taylor, 3rd Baron Grantchester.

On 23 March 2011 he was selected as one of 92 Hereditary peers who continue to sit in the House of Lords, elected; this time he won the by-election after the death of David Kenworthy, 11th Baron Strabolgi.

Pollock is representing the Labour Party. The first time he enlisted in his second term on 10 May 2011 to word. He was elected Deputy Speaker 2011.

Family

Pollock married on October 19, 1968 Elizabeth Liberty Vambe, the daughter of Lawrence Vambe. They are parents of two daughters. He lives with his wife in London (as of 2003).
