David Sommeil

David Sommeil ( born August 10, 1974 in Pointe -à- Pitre, Guadeloupe ) is a French football player and current National Player of the French overseas departments of Guadeloupe.

Currently, the 179 cm defender plays for the French club Valenciennes FC. Previously, he worked for Sheffield United and Manchester City in England, and Olympique Marseille, Bordeaux, Rennes and Caen in France. At the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States, he completed five games for the national team of Guadeloupe. On August 20, 2008, he collapsed during training and was admitted to a hospital. First diagnoses, according to the Frenchman has apparently suffered a heart attack.
