Day of the Walloon Region

The feast day of the Walloon Region Walloon Fiesses del Walonreye, Dutch Feest van het Waalse Region, French Fête de la Région Wallonne often Fête de la Wallonie or Fêtes de Wallonie or simply les Wallos is celebrated in Belgium on the third Sunday in September. The feast day recalls the participation of Walloons in the Belgian revolution of 1830.

In Namur

Collection of stilt ( échasseurs ) on the Place Saint- Aubin in the capital of Wallonia Namur Belgian folklore can be experienced on the third Sunday in September. The festivities begin on Thursday and end on Monday evening. Besides the local population they attract tens of thousands of visitors from all over the Wallonia. The feast day of the Walloon Region, Namur is organized by the central committee of Wallonia, which was founded in 1923 by François Bovesse. His archive was deposited in the "Service des Archives du Service Public de Wallonie Clarisse " at the Moulin de Meuse in Beez (Namur) 2004. The list of the total portfolio was published in 2007. In Liege

At the same time celebrations are held in several cities in the province of Liège.
