Dean Gordon

Dean Dwight Gordon ( born 1 February 1973 in Croydon, London ) is a former English footballer. The Gordon mostly used as a left-back played throughout his career in professional teams in England, Cyprus and New Zealand.

Career

Professional in England

Gordon played in the youth of Crystal Palace and in 1991 received his first professional contract. In his first season he came up with five appearances in the first team, was elected club internally for Young Player of the Year and was promoted to the Premier League. Crystal Palace was a typical Lift team in the series. The Erstligaaufstiegen 1992, 1994 and 1997 are three descent gegeünber in the years 1993, 1995 and 1998. While Gordon the association remained true to the Downs in 1993 and 1995, he moved to the descent of 1998 for £ 900,000 transfer fee for first division club FC Middlesbrough.

In his first season at Middlesbrough Gordon was an integral part of the team and missed just one league game. After a serious knee injury, he no longer was able to play in the regular team. In November 2001 he was awarded for some time at Cardiff City and moved to the end of the season free transfer to second division side Coventry City. In March 2004, he was awarded as a replacement for Nicky Shorey until end of season to FC Reading.

Years of travel

After an unsuccessful trial with Scottish club Hibernian Edinburgh joined Gordon in August 2004 to the fourth division Grimsby Town before he left England in March 2005 and moved for a few months for Cypriot club APOEL Nicosia.

In October 2005 he returned to England and joined the amateur club Crook Town. There he played until early 2006, when he signed a one-month contract with FC Blackpool, but was already not renewed in February. By the end of the season 2006 Gordon yet arrived at the amateur club FC Lewes, Crook Town and Worksop Town used.

In June 2006, Gordon joined the New Zealand club Albany United, but moved shortly afterwards to New Zealand champions Auckland City. After only five games for Auckland and just before the FIFA Club World Cup 2006 Gordon signed a professional contract with the New Zealand A- League club New Zealand Knights.

For the Knights Gordon completed until the end of season six missions and returned to the dissolution of the team back to England. There he put his career first in the Amateur Team Lewes continued to move only a short time later to relegation fourth division Torquay United. Gordon came to eight appearances for Torquay, but the descent into the amateur camp could not stop and was released at end of season. End of 2007, graduated from Gordon seven games for Whitby Town in the Northern Premier League, the summer of 2008 he played for the rival league Ilkeston Town. After a short Leihphase at FC Glapwell at the turn of 2008/ 09 he moved in March 2009 to FC Workington, where he worked as a "stand- by- footballers" week turned out for a week.

Favorite Teams

Between 1994 and 1995, Gordon came to a total of 13 missions in the English U- 21 team. In 1994 he won with the team the Toulon Tournament.
