Deborah Lurie

Ruth Deborah Lurie ( born March 9, 1974 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American composer.

Life

Ruth Deborah Lurie grew up in Palo Alto, California. At the age of two years she played on the piano before she received professional piano lessons at age six. Thanks to the artistic and cultural support of their parents, they often attended plays and musicals, so she encouraged her interest in music composition and she began to compose using their listening comprehension self music. After she composed the first time a separate piece for the theater performance A Midsummer Night 's Dream her high school, she began studying composition at the University of Southern California, which she successfully completed in 1997.

After being instructed by Christopher Young, it was John Ottman, who offered her the first opportunity to compose under his direction before several years under Danny Elfman for films such as Hellboy - The Golden Army, Spider- Man 2 and Wanted composed and conducted the orchestra. Besides the joint composition with Elfman at 9 she is in love mainly through their work on Suddenly, An Unfinished Life and Mozart and the Whale became known.
