John Ottman

John Ottman ( born July 6, 1964 in San Diego, California) is an American film editor, composer and director and producer.

Biography

Ottman graduated from the USC School of Cinema and Television, before he began his career with the turning of small films. 1988 his first film, The Burrito from Hell was completed. Five years later learned Ottman Bryan Singer, with whom he became friends and often worked together from then on. He appeared to be responsible for both the soundtrack and the film editing. With the usual suspects was in 1995, the breakthrough of both artists, they worked later in Apt Pupil (1998) and Valkyrie - The Stauffenberg assassination ( 2008) and the comic book movies X -Men 2 (2003) and Superman Returns (2006) together. In the first X-Men film no cooperation between the two took place because Ottman was busy at this time with his own project, Urban Legends 2, for which he not only worked as an editor and film composer, but also as a film director.
