Danny Elfman
Daniel Robert Elfman (* May 29, 1953 in Los Angeles, California) is an American composer of film music and son of novelist Blossom Elfman. He was known primarily for his work for director Tim Burton ( and Others Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Batman and Alice in Wonderland ). He also composed the theme song of the hit series The Simpsons. Danny Elfman is married to actress Bridget Fonda.
Life
Elfman is from a Jewish family. His creative career began in the early 1970s, when he was in the theatrical music group " Grand Magic Circus " boarding as a violinist, in his older brother Richard was playing congas. He later became part of the avant-garde music group "The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo ", which Richard had established in 1972. In this troupe Danny showed his musical talent including as lead singer, trombone, and various percussion instruments such as the balafon. For Richards, the 1978 movie Forbidden Zone was created by the Mystic Knights of the first soundtrack, which reached cult status in the United States. Also in 1978 Richard handed the management of the band to Danny, which consists of about 15-strong cast of the Mystic Knights of the eight -piece rock band Oingo Boingo formed a year later. His compositions for Big Fish, Good Will Hunting, Men in Black and Milk were nominated for an Oscar. Since 1980, he also composed the music for more than 100 film and television projects. Especially popular are the theme songs of The Simpsons and Desperate Housewives; For the latter he received the 2006 Emmy Award ( "Outstanding Title Music" ). 2005 his music was published for the ballet Serenada Schizophrana, which was incorporated into the score to Standard Operating Procedure and served as the music for the film Deep Sea 3D.
After his long-time collaboration with director Sam Raimi, for which he composed the scores for Spider -Man and its first sequel, among other things, he threw before this, to have given him in the completion of Spider- Man 2 too little time. Elfman said in interviews to be " deeply disappointed " by Raimi. He refused also, for the film released in theaters on May 1, 2007 Write Spider -Man 3 again the music. November 29, 2003, he is married to actress Bridget Fonda. They have a son, Oliver Henry Milton (* 2005). Elfman is the uncle of actor Bodhi Elfman. This is since 1995 married to Jenna Elfman, known as Dharma from the TV series Dharma & Greg.
