Děčín District

The Okres Decin (German: District Decin ) was a town in the Ústí nad Labem Region ( Ústí nad Labem Region / Elbe) in the Czech Republic. The Okresy were comparable to those counties in Germany in about and were wound up on 31 December 2002.

Okres Decin is the northernmost district in the Ústí nad Labem Region. The area is approximately 909 km ², of which 450 km ² of forests, 365 km ² of agricultural land. In 52 municipalities, 14 cities, 134,000 inhabitants live.

Economically, the county experienced in recent years, major structural changes. Large factories were closed, unemployment rose sharply. The economic activity shifted from production to trade and services.

The district offers through its many natural treasures and historical monuments ideal conditions for rest.
