Bamberdele " Dele " Adebola ( born June 23, 1975 in Lagos) is a Nigerian football player who is under contract with Rochdale AFC since 2012.

Sports career

Bamberdele " Dele " Adebola pulled in his early childhood with his parents to England. He grew up in Liverpool and moved to the youth to Crewe Alexandra.

In the season 1992/93 he started his professional career in the fourth English top flight. In the following season Adebola moved to Wales and spent the season on loan at Bangor City. The following two years were rather unremarkable, but in the 1996/97 season, he completed a very good season and managed with Crewe promotion to the Football League One. He scored 16 goals this year and had therefore essential role in this successful series.

Already in the course of the coming season changed Adebola in February 1998 for about £ 1 million to Birmingham City. The team also played in the second English top flight, but had a significantly higher potential than his former club. In the 1998/99 season he scored a total of 13 goals this season and is thus one of the most accurate players in the club. More disappointing was the coming season in the Adebola his marksmanship could hardly bring to bear. The year 1999/2000 was less than satisfactory and in the following season he was injured in addition, so that he was loaned to Oldham Athletic in early 2002 to gather match practice. His expiring contract in Birmingham was not renewed.

In his new club Crystal Palace he could play fast in the starting lineup and scored 5 goals in 39 games. For the season 2003/ 04 he moved to Coventry City. Due to lack of match practice, he spent 2004 on loan at Burnley and Bradford City.

For the season 2004 /05 he returned to Coventry and graduated alongside strike partner as Stern John and Gary McSheffrey a successful season. In the coming year Adebola was finally back on track and came in 44 games on 12 goals. 2006/ 07 there were 8 goals in 40 games. After that, a long time did not go so successful for him and therefore he decided in February 2008 to switch to Bristol City, where he spent the next 18 months. Especially in the second season, he was back to its former strength.

End of June 2009, he signed a two -year contract at Nottingham Forest and changed, returning to the club. In his first season in the Football League Championship 2009/10 he came in 33 games for use and was able to score his first goal in a 4-2 win at Watford FC on Matchday 3. After another season at Forest, Adebola signed on 29 June 2011 a one-year contract with Hull City.
