Denis Galimzyanov

Denis Ramiljewitsch Galimsjanow (Russian Денис Рамильевич Галимзянов, born 7 March 1987) is a Russian cyclist.

Career

Denis Galimsjanow began his career in 2006 at the Russian Premier Continental team. In his first year there he won a stage at Way to Beijing and at the Bulgaria - tour. In the next season, he won a section of the Grand Prix of Sochi, where he was in tenth overall. He also won the one-day race Mayor Cup and one stage in the Five rings of Moscow and in the Tour de Berlin.

Doping

In a training control on 22 March 2012 Galimsjanow tested positive for doping agent EPO. He renounced the opening of the B sample, which was tantamount to a confession of guilt. In an open letter, published on the website of his team in handwritten form, he confessed to the application of EPO and took over sole responsibility for the offense. In December 2012, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency Rusada him imprisoned for two years.
