Denmark Township is the name of a Township in Tuscola County in the U.S. state of Michigan. In 2000, Denmark Township had 3249 inhabitants.
Geography
On the northwestern part of the township on the running east -west direction M -81 is Reese; However, a small part of the Village extends into the lying in Saginaw County Blum Township. The unincorporated village of Richville is located in the southwest of the Township, at the intersection of M-15 and M- 46th Through the Township also run two formerly important railway lines in the former Penn Central, which converge at the railway junction Denmark Junction. In Reese intersects one of these rail lines with a range of Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, wherein a compound curve from the direction of Vassar is in the direction of Bay Port.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the predominantly rural Denmark Township has an area of 91.3 km ², consisting entirely of land. The township is crossed by numerous drainage ditches. The Cheboyganing Creek drains the south west of the township.
The neighboring townships are clockwise starting in the north, Gilford Township, Fairgrove Township, Junata Township Vassar Township, Tuscola Township, Frankenmuth Township, Blum Township and Merritt Township.
Demography
At the time of the census of 2000, there were Denmark Township 3249 people. The population density was 35.6 people per km ². There were 1327 housing units at an average 14.5 per km ². The population of Denmark townships consisted of 97.01 % White, 0.03 % African American, 0.18 % Native American, 1.23% Asian, 0 % Pacific Islander, 0.55 % reported from other races and 0.98 % from two or more races. 2.43 % of the population to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
The inhabitants of Denmark townships distributed to 1265 households out of which 33.3 % were living in children under 18 years. 62.2 % married couples living together, 8.4 % had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.1 % were non-families. 23.7% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 10.7 % of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size is 3.01.
The population was spread out with 25.8 % under the, 8.8 % 18 -24- year-old, 27.0% 25-44 year olds, 25.1% of 45-64 year olds and 13.4 % under the age of 65 years or more. The average age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 100.7 males. In the over -18s accounted for 100 women 92.0 males.
