Denny Doherty

Denny Doherty Dennis Gerrard Stephen Doherty actually ( born November 29, 1940 in Halifax, Nova Scotia; † January 19, 2007 in Mississauga, Ontario ) was a Canadian singer and member of the group The Mamas and the Papas.

Career

In 1960, Doherty in the Halifax folk group The Colonials, with whom he went to Toronto in 1961 to Montreal, Quebec, and 1962. When the group got a record deal in 1963 with Columbia 's Epic Records, the name was changed to The Halifax Three (The Halifax III). With The Man Who Would not Sing Along With Mitch, the band had their only hit and was disbanded in 1963. Ironically, this resolution was done in a hotel called The Colonial.
