Mackenzie Phillips

Laura Mackenzie Phillips ( born November 10, 1959 in Alexandria, Virginia ) is an American actress.

Life and achievements

Phillips was given the name Mackenzie in honor of his friend, with her father John Phillips singer Scott McKenzie. She debuted on the side of William Shatner in the television drama Go Ask Alice from the year 1973. During the same year the film American Graffiti was released, in which she played one of the major roles. She took over the same role in the sequel, The Party is over ... More American Graffiti from the year 1979.

In the years 1975 to 1983 Phillips appeared in 123 episodes of the TV series One Day at a Time. For this role she was nominated in 2005 for the TV Land Awards. In the film drama Love Behind Bars (1982 ) she played alongside Amy Madigan and Beau Bridges one of the major roles. In the 1980s, they had problems with drug abuse, they fought only after treatment for addiction in 1992. In her book, High on Arrival, Mackenzie Phillips reported in 2009 about these excessive drug experience and their incestuous relationship with her father John.

In the years 1999 to 2001 Phillips embodied in the television series Fiona's website, the famous mother of Fiona Phillips ( Cara DeLizia ). In the sci-fi thriller The Jacket (2005) she played alongside Adrien Brody, Keira Knightley and Jennifer Jason Leigh a nurse.

Phillips took part in the third season of the reality TV show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and had to be accompanied during a drug withdrawal.

Phillips married three times, most recently in 2005, the composer Keith Levenson. From the second of these marriages she has a child.
