Denys Berinchyk
Denys Berintschyk (Ukrainian Денис Берінчик, English transcription Denys Berinchyk, . Born 5 May 1988 in Krasnodon, Luhansk Oblast ) is a Ukrainian boxer in the Light Welterweight. Berintschyk was silver medalist at the 2011 World Championships and silver medalist at the 2012 Olympics.
2008 Berintschyk took for the first time at an international championship, the World Student Championships in Kazan, in part. Here he left the lightweight ( 60 kg) starting in the first fight against Tair Ismanov, Kyrgyzstan ( 10:7 ), from. The following year he also started the first time at the Ukrainian Championships Men, but lost in the quarter- finals to eventual champion Dmytro Bulenkov (8:2). Also in 2009 was able to win the bronze medal at the student Berintschyk European Championships.
At the national championships in 2010 Berintschyk failed again in the quarterfinals, but was in Ulaanbaatar students world champions with a final victory over Ghani Schajlauow, Kazakhstan ( 4-0).
2011 moved Berintschyk the Light Welterweight ( up to 64 kg ) and failed again in the quarter- finals at the Ukrainian Championships. However, he sat down by the internal secretions and therefore was nominated for the 2011 World Championships. In this Championships he reached after beating the defending Rosniel Iglesias, Cuba ( 19:19 ) Anderson Rojas, Ecuador ( 26:13 ), Jonathan Alonso, Spain ( 27:19 ) Heybatulla Hajialiyev, Azerbaijan ( 33:19 ) and in the semifinal against Tom Stalker, England ( 31:18 ), surprisingly the semifinals. This he lost against Brazilian Éverton Lopes ( 26:23 ) and thus won the silver medal in the light welterweight and a place at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
At the Olympics he beat in the second round just Anthony Yigit, Sweden ( 24:23 ), in the quarterfinals Jeff Horne, Australia ( 21:13 ), and in the semifinals Uranchimegiin Mönkh - Erdene, Mongolia ( 29:21 ). In the final he met the Cuban Roniel Iglesias, to have this but to admit defeat ( 22:15 ). Berintschyk thus won the Olympic silver medal in the light welterweight.
