Deoria (Hindi: देवरिया, Urdu: دیوریا; Devriyā, [en o̯rɪjɑ ː ] ) is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, with around 130,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). It is located in the northeast of Uttar Pradesh near the border of the neighboring Federal state of Bihar, about 50 kilometers south-east of Gorakhpur. The city is the administrative center of the district of Deoria. By the railway line from Deoria Gorakhpur leads to Siwan.
