Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Ireland)
The Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Irish: An Roinn Gnóthaí Eachtracha, English: Department of Foreign Affairs ) is one of the departments of the Irish government. It is responsible for relations between the Republic of Ireland and other countries as well as the representation of the interests of Ireland in the European Union. It is headed by the Secretary of State, subject to the two state ministers. The Office of the Secretary of State has traditionally been one of the most respected in the Irish government.
The Ministry has its headquarters on St Stephen's Green on the edge of the center of the capital Dublin. Foreign Minister Micheál Martin is currently the Conservative party Fianna Fáil; Ministers of State are Peter Power (responsible for development aid) and Dick Roche ( European Affairs ).
