Derek Clayton

Derek Clayton ( born November 17, 1942 in Lancashire, England ) is a former Australian long-distance runner.

Clayton was the first athlete who remained in the marathon under 2 hours and 10 minutes, as he at the Fukuoka Marathon world record by over two minutes improved on 3 December 1967 2:09:36,4 h. At the Olympic Games in 1968 in the height of Mexico City, he was in 2:27:23,8 h seventh.
