Detroit Film Critics Society

The Detroit Film Critics Society ( DFCS ) is an organization of film critics from Detroit, Michigan in the United States. It gives at the end of each just before Christmas film awards in several categories.

History

The Detroit Film Critics Society was founded in early 2007 and consists of a group of more than twenty film critics who write or publish in the environment ( about 150 miles) from Detroit movie reviews. These include, for example, critics from the cities of Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing or Flint. As a condition of membership must be evaluated in a year and they have published in reputable publications (print media, radio, television or the Internet ) is a film critic at least 12 movies. In each case, a maximum of two candidates per publication will be approved here. Participants are also required to the winners at the end to announce publicly. Annually, the Detroit Film Critics Society critics with the DFCS Awards in the categories: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Ensemble, Breakthrough Performance (also Best Newcomer, debutant ), best screenplay and best documentary.
