Dev (singer)
Dev ( * July 2, 1989 in Manteca, California as Devin Star Tailes ) is an American singer and rapper. They became known as The Cataracs and Far East Movement in the song Like a G6 a sample from Devs commercially unsuccessful song Booty Bounce used and thus placed at number one of the singles charts.
Life
Dev comes from Manteca, California and is of Mexican and Portuguese descent. She was a professional U.S. swimmer before her music career. In 2008, she invited her own songs on their MySpace page, where the band The Cataracs noticed her. After its discovery, The Cataracs and Dev took together on songs and went on tour. She sang in the songs 2Nite and Top of the World with the band. Dev is currently living in Los Angeles, California, where she finished with The Cataracs, work on their debut album.
On December 9, 2011 Dev brought a daughter into the world.
