Devlet Bahçeli

Devlet Bahceli ( born January 1, 1948 in Osmaniye ) is a Turkish politician and the current Chairman of the far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP ).

Curriculum vitae

Devlet Bahceli was born in 1948 in Osmaniye, where he attended elementary school. The secondary school he attended in Istanbul, his higher education took place at the Economic Academy in Ankara. Devlet Bahceli doctorate at the Gazi University in Ankara. During his studies, he was a member of various so-called " Idea List clubs," the nationalist and right-wing 'Grey Wolves'.

In 1987 he became a member of the board of the " Party of the Nationalist work" ( MCP), the later MHP. In 1997, he took over after the death of Alparslan Türkeş the party chairmanship. From 1999 to 2002 he was deputy in several coalition governments with the DSP and ANAP Prime Minister of Turkey. Devlet Bahceli is not married and has no children.
