DG Flugzeugbau DG-800
The DG- 800 is a single-seat high performance glider with 15 or 18 m wingspan and different engine versions for the self-launch.
It was developed after the forms of the previous model DG- 600 in a fire at the former factory Glaser- Dirks had been severely damaged. The first version of DG- 800A first flew on 6 December 1991. The DG- 808 is the latest series of the DG- 800 series. The aircraft is built largely of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP ). At her first Bugwipers garages were attached.
It is offered as a pure glider ( DG- 808S ) or as a self-launching motor gliders ( DG- 808C and DG- 808C Competition ) with foldable two-stroke engine. It is available with 15 m or 18 m span and with or without winglets.
The DG- 808C is known as self-launching motor glider with its engine control system " DEI- NT ", which largely relieves the pilot from the operation of the engine.
